G is for Grand Theft Auto

Rise and shine bloggers, it's a beautiful day for an A to Z Movie Smackdown. For today's tete-a-tete, I'm in the mood for something a little bit . . . illicit. With danger around every corner and speeds upward of 180 mph, these two movies certainly fit the bill. (And make me want to drive like a maniac when I'm cruising down the freeway.) So cast your VOTE for your favorite film in the category of --

  1. The Fast and the Furious for the win. Even though I am yet to see any of the subsequent movies in the franchise, I remember loving the first one because of that initial pleasure of seeing Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez (two of my favorite Hollywood badasses) in the same movie. :D

  2. Now this is hard - neither are particularly my type of film, but I have seen both. I have to go with Gonen In 60 Seconds because of Angelina :) although I do love Vin Diesel, but more as Riddick.

  3. The Fast and the Furious for sure! Great movie and great franchise.

  4. I really enjoy fast action car chases with a dash of potential death and these films have the perfect amount of both.

  5. Both of these are great. It's basically a tie, and as in all competitions, the tie goes to Nic Cage.

  6. Hell yeah! I enjoyed the films... both films but FF is a crazy amount of fun and having them in a series... though I think watching the originals.

Welcome in the letter "G"... thank you!

  7. I can't vote on Fast and Furious on principle, those movies just rub me the wrong way... :P So I'll go with the other one :D

  8. I can't stand the Fast and the Furious movies! So my vote goes to Gone in 60 seconds (even though it wasn't a great movie either!)

  9. Fast and the furious for me. There's just something about Vin and those hands of his when he's playing under the hood of a car.

  10. This is a tough one. FF would win for the franchise, but I think Gone in 60 Seconds is better than the first FF. Since that's the actual battle, I'll go Gone in 60 Seconds.

  11. Hands down...The Fast and The Furious. I love all of those movies!

Djinnia's comment made me giggle. ;)

  12. This is another pair of which I have seen neither, the only thing I've seen was an elongated advert for Fast & Furious 6 (I think it was 6) in the cinema, which showed how to defy physics to epic proportions ;P So, I will abstain today :)

  13. I have to go with Gone in 60 Seconds. It's always been a favourite of mine from a time when Nicholas Cage was actually acting well! I'm also a huge Angelina fan! As for Fast and the Furious, I enjoyed the first couple, but they've made it to #7 now and I've just lost interest.

  14. This is a close one because son loved all the Fast/Furious movies and we must have seen the first one DOZENS of times. But I'm going with Gone in 60 Seconds; I did like to watch Nicholas Cage perform in that movie.

  15. I have seen both and both don't appeal to me-lol but I will take Fast and Furious because it seemed to have more fun and Nicholas Cage I always feel the need to punch in the face

  16. The Fast and the Furious!
I somehow like Vin more than Nicolas cage.

  17. I'll make sure to keep your blog posts for the A-Z challenge in mind whenever I'm in the mood for a movie Smackdown. I suspect most of these will be ones I've never even heard of though, although your G entry is familiar to me!

  18. Has to be The Fast And The Furious. Gave up on Nicholas Cage when his 'hair' started to get its own screen credit. Brilliant theme for the A-Z. Going to have to go back and look at A-F now!

  19. HI SL! Back on day two, I did a random drawing for a copy of Mistress on Her Knees, and you won. :) Fair warning. It has some BDSM content, so it's no problem if you'd rather pass (or you could choose one of my less "adult" books instead.

Would you please comment on my blog or email me at ana_stasia2007@yahoo.com to let me know whether you'd like the book and how? Thanks!

Btw, I haven't seen either movie. I'm a scaredy cat!

  20. I liked Gone in 60 Seconds, but it's kind of hard to vote against Fast and Furious.

  21. I'm almost embarrassed at how few movies I've seen...and I haven't seen either of these.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Fast and Furious hands down! I'm not a super fan of the series, but everytime I come across it channel surfing that's what I stop on.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'm going with Gone in 60 Seconds. Love Cage.

    ReplyDelete
  24. The Fast and The Furious was the only one of that entire series I saw. I'll vote for it.

  25. Can't say I have seen either of those movies! I don't see many action flicks.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  26. I haven't seen either movies, so can't vote... But I heard both are good ones...

  27. Had to laugh, my boyfriend had a Fast and Furious marathon this weekend to prep for the new movie.

  28. What a great theme idea! Love it. But I haven't watch either movie. (I like the Fast and the Furious movie poster better....does that count?)

  29. I'd have to vote for Gone in 60 Seconds. Nick Cage is super cheesy but Timothy Olyphant has the great line of: "Are you ok? Yeah, you sure... 'cause you just went through a wall."

  30. I haven't seen either movie, but I love Nicholas Cage.

  32. Hard to choose! Especially since I only just watched gone in 60 seconds like 2 weeks ago. And FF is muddled up in my head. So I'll go with nicholas cage

  33. Fast & Furious has been too overdone. I'm giving this one to Gone in 60 Seconds.

  34. Haven't seen either one, but I would go with the Nicolas Cage film! Love him!
