I is for Intelligence Agent

Secret agent. Spook. Spy. Intelligence agents go by many names (and often have just as many aliases). Sometimes government employees . . . and sometimes working in black-ops off-shoots, these agents are as mysterious as they are deadly.

I is for Intelligence Agent

James Bond (Bond franchise) – My oldest film love, I've been watching the James Bond movies since I was a little girl. With a licence to kill and looks to match, Bond has been shaking up (not stirring) the big screen since 1962.

Jason Bourne (Bourne series) – Before he lost his memory, Jason Bourne was a hired assassin working for Treadstone, a black-ops program out of the CIA. Unfortunately for Treadstone, Jason isn't afraid to use his considerable skills to assassinate corrupt off-books agencies who don't play fair.

Sydney Brystow (Alias) – The only lady to make my list, Sydney Bristow is more than capable of taking care of herself. A double agent spy, she works for the CIA to take down terrorist cells around the globe. And she does it all in six-inch stiletto heels.

Jack Bauer (24) – Jack Bauer is, if possible, the only man that can keep up with Chuck Norris. He accomplishes more in 24 hours than most people do in three months. A member of CTU (Counter Terrorist Unit), Jack is a dedicated agent. The only downfall  being in a relationship with him. The people Jack cares about most generally wind up dead, tortured, or evil.

Ethan Hunt (Mission Impossible franchise) – The man of a million masks, Ethan Hunt changes his face as often as the Bond series changes actors. His missions, which he always chooses to accept despite the high risk involved, are full of disguises, intrigue, and impossibility. Lucky for the world, Ethan is skilled at making the impossible, possible.

And there you have it, my Top 5 favorite Intelligence Agents. What are some of your favorites?

  2. How cool...I used to want to be one. Until I realized I'm not calm in high-stress situations. I think that might be a requirement. Cool post!

  5. Alec Guiness as George Smiley in the original Tinker, Tailor series.

I can't get behind you on the Mission Impossible movies. Too many of them have just been bad.
And I can only support the first two seasons of Alias.

  8. I love this idea!

Ethan Hunt feels more like a wannabe spy because it always seems it's for a personal reason he's doing something.

I love Jack Ryan in Hunt for Red October but James Bond...have loved him my entire life. I'm pretty faithful when it comes to him (even when Timothy Dalton played him)

  12. Never heard of Ethan Hunt. James Bond on the other hand is a house hold name. I don't know if I should be happy about it or not. LOL

  15. I love everyone on your list, but if I had to pick one favorite, it would be Bond. He defines the very word, secret agent.

  16. Funny how many have last names beginning with a 'B'- remember reading that the higher in the alphabet your surname the more successful you were likely to be. As a "W", I do all I can to stamp out Alphabet-ism....

  18. Add another vote for Bond. He really started it all, didn't he? I attended a party once with a James Bond theme. The room was dark, with spotlights circling and the theme song playing. So cool!

  19. Great choices. Austin Powers was a great one to me.

  20. Wow! I am glad I am here to read this post. James Bond is an all time favorite - ever since I got my first cell phone ten years ago, I've had the same ring tone - Dr.No's theme.

Love the name of your blog, Hennessy! Have a great day and thank you for connecting!

  21. Whenever I watch a movie with an Intelligence Agent in, I always think 'Man, I would love to do that full time.' - I am somewhat of a thrill seeker.

  22. I'm a huge Jason Bourne fan. They were such smart concepts of IA. But, I have to give props for the Daniel Craig Bond movies. They are really good and the franchise became modern since he became Bond.
