For today's A to Z Movie Smackdown, I'm feeling in the mood for something a little bit . . . out of this world. I thought I would pair up two fairly recent movies that feature the great expanse we call outer space and see which one made an impression. So cast you VOTE for today's metagalactic match-up!
O is for Outer Space:

I can't really vote since I've only seen one, but I really enjoyed Gravity!

Gravity!!!!! I don't think I could possibly say that any louder. Inasmuch as I loved Interstellar, it remains a slave to the visual perfection that was Gravity. :D
ReplyDeleteI have a really terrible admission - I fell asleep while watching Gravity. My better half says it was brilliant so I will have to try to watch it again.

ReplyDeleteInterstellar .. seen and liked it

Yet to see interstellar, has a great cast though. Loved gravity, so I have to go with that.
ReplyDeleteNo vote, not interested in either... I know, I know. May I pick Last Starfighter... please? :)

There's no earthly way of knowing.
Which direction we are going!
HOLLYWOOD NUTS!
Come Visit: You know you want to know if me or Hollywood... is Nuts?
Gravity - has to be Gravity just for Sandra Bullock's amazing performance.

I saw Gravity and enjoyed it. So it gets my vote. I babysat my grandson so my kids could go to a preview showing of Interstellar in IMAX. They came in groaning so its likely I'll never watch it.
ReplyDeleteClose, as Gravity was good, but it was really cold. Interstellar was so ambitious. It gets my vote.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen Interstellar and only managed about 10 minutes of Gravity, so I shall not vote today :)

Tough call - I thought both movies were great. In a situation like this, I'll defer to Neil deGrasse Tyson...my vote is for Interstellar
ReplyDeleteGravity was visually stunning, but I got bored. Interstellar was more interesting but got a little odd near the end. Can't quite decide if I liked it or not. I'm going to second the vote above for The Last Starfighter.

I've heard Interstellar was simply awesome. I really want to see it! I've been way too busy these past few months.
ReplyDeleteSadly, I haven't seen either of these movies so I can't vote.
ReplyDeleteI've only seen Gravity so I guess I'll have to vote for that.
ReplyDeleteCannot vote. I've only seen gravity. Interstellar is waiting for me to watch this weekend. So I will abstain.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed Gravity more than Interstellar.
ReplyDeletePrecious Monsters
Can't vote. I'm going to watch Interstellar some time soon. I've been looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteOK Interstellar I have not seen...so it gets my vote because nothing is more horrid and more stupid that than crappy flick called Garvity. What a waste of my 2+ hours. Except for the special effects it sucks...SUCKS! This is just my humble opinion:)
ReplyDeleteI have not had a chance to see INTERSTELLLAR, but I plan to, LOVE Sci Fi, I liked Gravity so I'll just vote for what I know
ReplyDeleteInterstellar. A great piece of filmmaking from a great director.
ReplyDeleteOh, I can't vote. I've seen neither of them :-(
ReplyDeleteBut a lot of people seem to like Gravity. Maybe I can trust them and vote the same. Or maybe I can play the originale and vote for Interstellar.
Uhm...
What I really love about the A to Z Challenge is its diversity. I’m a total muggel to movies, and I never read any related articles or blogs. It’s fun to have a look at another microcosmic!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for co-hosting, I'm sure it's a lot of work!

I haven't seen either movie, to be honest, they just don't interest me, but if I had to pick it would be Gravity (because of George Clooney)..http://50andfabulousblog.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI am going to abstain voting today. I have not seen Interstellar and Gravity put me to sleep, though I stayed so hard to keep awake while watching it :)
ReplyDeletebetty
I still need to see Interstellar.
ReplyDeleteThat's a tough one. I haven't seen Interstellar yet, but I've heard good things about it. Gravity I did see and liked. But I'll have to go with Interstellar, simply because I always like Nolan movies.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen Interstellar and the only reason I've seen Gravity is because it was nominated for best picture last year (I always try to watch all of the noms before the awards). I suppose I should not skew the vote by taking part. Not my type of movie nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteI've seen Interstellar, and I think it is OK. I read an article in the Time magazine, and I got interested in it. I haven't seen Gravity. If I had had seen both, I could vote.
ReplyDeleteGravity, definitely. While both have plot holes in them, Interstellar is downright sloppy. It was fun entertainment, but too much of a mess for me.
ReplyDeleteInterstellar is my pick because I hated the scientific inaccuracies in Gravity. All she had to do was give a tiny tug on George Clooney's cord and he would have been saved. Ridiculous. Thanks for stopping by my O post earlier!
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen either one. Damn!
ReplyDeleteGravity- don't care about the details being flawed- it was brilliant.
