Z is for Zombies

Well A to Z-ers, it's the last day of the challenge. I won't deny that I'm glad to get a little break, but boy am I sad to see the end of my favorite year of A to Z thus far! I made so many new blogging friends and had such a great time acting as a co-host. I hope all of you had as much fun this April as I did.

This is my fourth year participating in the Blogging from A to Z Challenge, and every year I end with the same "Z" topic – Zombies! I'm a sucker for a good tradition, so it should come as no surprise that today's A to Z Movie Smackdown will feature our favorite brain-hungry fiends. So for the very last time this April cast your VOTE for your favorite . . .

Z is for Zombie:

vs.

[Alternate Pairing (Zombedy): Zombieland vs. Shaun of the Dead]

And DON'T FORGET about the A to Z reflections post going on from May 4th through May 8th. We'd love to hear about what you did and didn't like about the challenge, how you thought we did as hosts, what could be improved, cool bloggers you met or new blogs you're excited to follow, how you dealt with writing 26 posts in one month, and anything else you'd like to share! Write a post about your experience with the challenge and then add the link to your post to the Linky List (you can find it here at my blog May 4th). Do not add your link until you've published your reflections post! I can't wait to hear everyone's posts about the 2015 Blogging from A to Z Challenge!

  1. I think this is the only one of all your smackdowns where I actually loved all the movies, even the alternative pairings. That said, the first Resident Evil movie remains my favorite movie in the entire series. And being a fan of the game series, as well as Michelle Rodriguez, I'd say it edges out World War Z and gets my vote.

P.S: Congrats on making it to the end of the Challenge, Lauren. You've made this year quite possibly my best one yet. :D

  2. Now this is hard - I really like both movies. I didn't think I would like WWZ - but I actually really enjoyed it. However, I think I will have to go with Resident Evil because I like the more sci-fi aspects of it too.

Great month - see you for the reflections.

  3. I think the first zombie movie I ever saw was Night of the Living Dead (1968). Yes, it was good, but not a genre I ever took to. So, no vote again today. But I wanted to say 'thanks' for introducing me to so many movies this month that I have never seen. It's been fun!

  4. Between the two, Resident Evil, but ultimately, Zombieland!

  5. I've never watched a zombie movie, so can't vote on this. Just wanted to say the A-Z has been great fun. I will definitely try to get a post up on the Reflections theme!

  6. Zombies are not my thing so I haven't seen any of these but I'm going to vote for World War Z anyway because it was partly filmed here and it makes it into my Gallus Glasgow Z!

  8. I hear World War Z is really good, but I haven't seen it. I love the Resident Evil movies though so that's where my vote is going. :)

  9. I can't stand zombies so I haven't seen either! I have seen Shaun of the Dead, though. Maybe comedy makes it easier to deal with seeing zombies...

  11. WW Z for sure. I've enjoyed your challenge this year. Lots of great movie choices.

  12. Big fan of the RE games, but sadly the movie couldn't capture the magic/terror of the source material. Got to give it to World War Z, even though I love the book more.

Congrats on surviving the challenge! :)

  13. I have not seen either so I can't vote. I am actually sick of zombies unless it is humorous. Oh well-congrats on the A to Z!

  17. Last one! :) I'd say World War Z, I think it was underrated. Then again, I only saw pieces of RE.
Looking forward to who the winners were! :) I really enjoyed this theme, it was tons of fun.

  19. According to my hubby I've seen part of each. But because of fellow Missourian Brad Pitt I'm gonna stay true to my roots with World WarZ 👍

  30. I'll have to go with WWZ since I don't remember the other one--if I even saw it!

This was a good A to Z year--one of the best I think. Thanks for helping to make it so.
