S is for Sharks

Duuuuh duh. Duuuuh duh. Duuuuuh duh, duh-duh dududududu . . .

I still can't step a toe in the ocean without the sound of the infamous shark theme song swimming terrifyingly through my mind. In fact, those sinister notes are sending goosebumps down my spine right now as I gear up for today's A to Z Movie Smackdown. Boy is it a good one.

Swimming in from the shores of the East Coast we have one of the most infamous chompfests of cinematic history. A movie so terrifying it kept many a movie-goer permanently on dry land. Which incidentally wouldn't help them much with today's West Coast selection, a movie that added a whole new level of terror to tornadoes and gave new meaning to the phase "it's just so bad it's good". So cast your VOTE and let me know which film takes home the prize!

  1. I probably should watch Jaws sometime. Sharknado sounds like a cheesy fun kind of movie.

  11. I had a first date with a guy who took me to see Jaws. Me: I don't want to see that. Him: Oh, you'll love it. I've seen it three times. There was no second date.

  12. I love both these movies for completely different reasons, but I have to vote for Jaws because it scared the Bejesus out of me as a child.

  14. Jaws! For cheesy shark movies our family enjoys The Deep Blue Sea.

  15. Probably Jaws because there wouldn't be a Sharkado I think without a Jaws. Right?

  16. Never saw Sharknado. I was disappointed in Jaws because of the book. The book was much more into the politics of saving the tourist business by shutting up about the whole thing. Made it extra scary that they could be that casual with people's lives.
