Well, we've finally made it to the last round in my Halloween Howl-Fest. "This is it. Don't get scared."(Sorry, channeling on of my favorite Christmas movies now. Wrong holiday.)
Anyway, we've come down to the final two movies. Witches versus ghosts. He Who Must Not Be Named versus Who you gonna call?. And it's time to decide which films is going to go all the way.
I'll be sad to see the end of this Howl-Fest. It's been a lot of fun. But all good things must come to an end. So cast a spell . . . I mean your vote, and let me know which movie you think deserves to win this year's Halloween Howl-Fest!
P.S. On a separate note, are there any other movies you wish had made it further? I know there are a few I am devastated about. Take one more look at the bracket and let me know if there are any films you think we slashed too soon . . .
Happy Monday!
Harry Potter

ReplyDeleteHarry Potter vs Ghostbusters as the best Halloween movies? Really??? Out of all the great movies you started with, neither of these would have been my guess to make it to the finals.
ReplyDeleteI know it's borderline sacrilege to admit it, but I've never been much of a Potter fan. So I'll go with "Ghostbusters" -- It's cheesy but at least the cheese was intentional.
I'm doing something special tomorrow for others that feel the same way about the final two. Do you have a movie you think should have made it further? Something you consider a better Halloween movie?
DeleteGHOSTBUSTERS
ReplyDeleteHarry Potter.
ReplyDeleteAnd I can't believe Hocus Pocus didn't make it to the finals! I mean, what kind of monster wouldn't vote for Hocus Pocus?
I can't imagine what kind of person would do that. Maybe someone named, oh, I don't know, ANDY!
DeleteI'm bummed Zombieland didn't make it. Voting for Ghostbusters.
ReplyDeleteI second Alex's disapproval for Zombieland not making it. Other movies, too. However, between these two: Ghostbusters.
ReplyDeleteYeah... I don't really feel all Halloweeny about either of these, but I'll go with Ghostbusters.
ReplyDeleteCause that's who I'm gonna call.
While I love HP, Ghostbusters would be my choice of the two for Halloween movies. It's one of those gems that is still funny, even if it feels outdated at times, and it captures this weird niche in '80s movies with some legendary comedians. Also, slimer.
ReplyDeleteHuh, I'm not sure I would pick either one of those, but since your blogging public has spoken, if it has to be between those two I'd go with Ghostbusters. Just a little scarier.
ReplyDeleteHP, baby. Even though Ghostbusters has some killer one-liners.
ReplyDeleteOf all the ones that didn't make it, I think I like Blade and The Lost Boys best -- a tribute to the days when vampires were vampires before Twilight ruined it for everyone. (In non-scary films, I'd go for Hocus Pocus and Portable Magic.) But now I'm voting for Ghostbusters. :-)
ReplyDeleteCan't understand how 'Halloween' is not there, so I'll vote for Ghostbusters.
ReplyDeleteMy fav horror-ish movies are Zombieland and Shaun of the Dead, so yeah, I disappointed. I do like Harry Potter, but I have the books... My vote goes to Ghostbusters.
